Just joining the conversation. We are in the process of switching credit card processing vendors as our bank is charging a mint to us to process. We have narrowed our search to Best Card (ADA endorsed) and PayRoc. Both can save us significantly over our current processor. I like Best Card’s approach better.
We have been charging $10 for PPE, at all visits. We have a few insurance carriers not allowing us to bill, which we then do not, but some have even informed us that we can charge using the D1999 code and they will pay the fee. We have had a few unhappy patients but most understand. One sent a letter the State Attorney General’s Office. I provided the requested documentation to them. They said that if we add notification of our PPE fee to our COVID paperwork then we should be covered if a patient registers a complaint.
