Yes! I opt out of all credit card payments and have paper checks mailed or most now give the option to print the check directly off the website. I have not found an easier way but right now it seems like there is only about 4 or 5 companies that insurances hire so it hasn’t been to many to opt out of.

We do electronic consent forms through WINOMS our surgical assistants who are in the consultation put the consent forms together. If the consult is virtual they still put the consent form together by filling in the info but then the form is not signed until day of surgery.

If the patient is clear from cancer you would want to use a history of cancer ICD10 code look at Z85.810. In addition to your dental caries ICD-10 code. I am not sure if you need to put anything down for chemo or radiation if you used the tongue cancer code.

I am allowing our staff to borrow PTO hours to make up for the time off. With the new bill being passed today it looks like their may be tax incentives for businesses to pay employees 50% of their usual pay even if they aren’t working. I am waiting for more clarification once the bill is out.

We are not doing anything with paying for 2 weeks off if they get COVID-19 etc… I don’t know how you could ever prove it was from a patient, from touching an item at a store, from the gas handle filling up your car etc… As I have read a lot of people already have it or had it and may not have ever even known.

The Nebraska Dental Association announced Monday they recommend only seeing emergencies and no elective procedures from March 17 to March 31. We are doing this and have rescheduled non emergent patients at this time. Being in OMS most patients are urgent so we have lost about 30% of our schedule for the next 2 weeks. Patients that come in we have them sit in their car and call us when they are here they either come in or wait a few minutes then go over post op with rides then they go wait in the car until the patient is ready to be wheeled out.

    Hi Terri! Welcome to SOMSA!

I have never billed for this but I think I would use 20552 or 20553. Those 2 codes do not specify if they include the injection drug so I would also use HCPCS code J0585 which is for the Botox drug itself you will bill that with however many units of Botox is used. Then just add your diagnosis and you should be good to go. Like I said I have never billed for this not sure if you need a modifier. I suppose if you did bilateral you may need to add that in there.

    Glenda,
I use D7999 for debridement. For the exposed bone portion I suppose it depends I may just use D7999 for it or I may use exotosis or if you are modifying the ridge due to an extraction I would do alveoplasty.
