Our state allows Covid vaccination as a requirement, but NO ONE is doing this as of yet in our surrounding communities. We invited all 30 staff members to participate in the vaccination at our local health department, but only 10 of us chose to get it, I was one of them. I’ve heard of other offices offering bonuses, extra PTO, but it’s not been very successful.

I just came to this forum with this exact question. We are in the middle of signing up with them, but I understand that they can drop us if we do not meet their quota! So, how are we to handle a patient who comes in for a large implant case and has been pre-approved by Green Sky, but suddenly we no longer have this financing available to them if they drop us due to not meeting their quota? We are exploring other options as this is a deal breaker for us.

It’s a real struggle, but we refund paper checks unless a patient requests the refund back on a credit card. What really stinks is when a patient uses their credit card in error instead of an HSA card, then calls for us to refund one & repost to another! Luckily, it doesn’t happen too often & we justify it as PR with our patients & referring offices.

We are charging $15.00 per pt per surgery room procedure. But that may increase soon as the costs when you can aquire PPE are skyrocketing!

Our phone triage goes like this…
-Come alone or with one person who may be asked to remain in their car
    -No recent cough?
    -No flu like symptoms?
    -No elevated temperature?
    -No exposure to anyone ill?
    -Difficulty breathing?
-Not visited a location where Covid 19 is spreading?
-Do you have a mask at home? If yes, we encourage you to wear it, but we will not require it.

Triage nurse upon arrival does same as above but takes temperature of pt & ride if pt needs that person with them. Yesterday we started having her also take temp/bp/p/02 sat so that only one employee is coming into contact with a pt upon arrival, allowing no contact with the person doing health hx in exam room. To keep within hipaa compliance, we do not verbalizes the readings, we write them down and hand to front desk to enter into EMR.

    Hope this helps someone.

Currently, we have a triage nurse stationed at our entrance pre-screening each person before they enter our waiting room. They are asked 7 questions recommended by the CDC and they have a temp check also. Once this mandate is lifted in our state, Ohio, I have no idea where to to go with running all 3 of our locations and keeping our staff and patients safe, mainly because PPE is so difficult to find. We are able to manage one location, but if supplies do not increase, I do not know what we will do. 🙁
