gpmadminKeymasterI’m interested in this too. accountant@midvalleyoms.com Thanks!
gpmadminKeymasterThanks, ladies! We never charge for post-op care for a visiting patient, college student or otherwise. Our doctors philosophy is that we support other practices as we would like them to support us. The end result was I reached out to the oral surgeons office who treated our patient to cover the fees for her, the doctor actually answered the phone himself and shared with me that he has that same philosophy and did not charge the patient. I called the patients mother to inform her of this, she was very appreciative of our efforts & the second oral surgeons kindness. The end result was our patient received the post-op care she needed and everyone was happy. That’s always my goal, this time it worked lol!

gpmadminKeymasterI also print stickers and use place on statements as WINOMS you can’t add to the statements.
January 29, 2020 at 4:13 pm in reply to: Narratives/Chart Write ups, who does them, do you use dictation software? #1005gpmadminKeymasterOur assistants write up everything and Doctor then goes in to change what he needs to change.
gpmadminKeymasterOur vacation and sick time is all rolled into one. They start accumulating as soon as they start can not use it for 90 days. First 4 years they ear 3 PTO hours every 2 weeks. Then it goes to 5 PTO hours after that. Once they reach 108 hours they do not earn anymore until it has been used.
gpmadminKeymasterWe have had 1 patient see a doctor out of state, the parent did not ask us to reimburse for any charges if any. If we are seeing a patient for an OMS office in another state unless I know them and they are asking me for a favor we do charge our regular exam fee.
gpmadminKeymasterJust finished mine as well. This year I felt was even quicker I printed 1 report from WINOMS and 1 report from QuickBooks and took about 20 minutes to transfer the numbers! Looking forward to seeing the results!
gpmadminKeymasterAll staff are expected to wear the uniform scrubs provided by the practice. Our administrative staff uniform consists of black scrub jackets and pants and color coordinated scrub tops (matching colors for each day of the week). Our office is cold at times, so they are allowed to wear a black fleece jacket or color coordinated fleece top with the black pants. Our clinical staff wear colored scrubs (matching colors for each day of the week also, but not necessarily matching the administrative staff). Jeans, leggings, stretch pants, sweat clothes, shorts, tank tops or other low-cut tops are not acceptable attire and may not be worn by employees at any time while engaging in practice business and when not working with direct patient care. If the employee arrives unsuitably attired, we may send them home to change – off the clock.
gpmadminKeymasterHi Alice,
We have all staff (clinical and administrative) in practice-provided scrubs. I totally understand that scrubs may not be very “business-like”, but it creates uniformity across all staff, and we don’t have to worry about all the other issues that come with employee-provided clothing.
Would business attire look more professional? Probably. Are scrubs more comfortable with less issues? YEP!

gpmadminKeymasterIf your office did not treat this person you should charge your regular exam fees.
gpmadminKeymasterApparently PBHS now offers this too.
gpmadminKeymasterThank you for your information. It has been very helpful.

gpmadminKeymasterWe have OMS Vision and currently are using Allscripts / PayerPath. I am going to be looking at other options soon, though as PP is pretty expensive, I feel.
