DESCRIPTION

This course will focus on communication best practices related to dental implant cases. Through an OMSNIC closed claim review, topics of patient intake processes, office procedures, the handling of patient expectations, and practicing risk reduction practices with referring providers will be explored.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

After this webinar, participants will know how to:

  1. Modify office procedures to educate patients about dental implants and patient specific responsibilities.
  2. Develop strategies to communicate expectations related to dental implant treatment plans given a patient’s assessment.
  3. Formulate risk reducing communication practices specific to referring doctors.

Suzanne Moy is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) and is a member of the American Society of Healthcare Risk Management (ASHRM) Association. She has her bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration/Management. Her background includes managing medical and psychiatric patient safety and risk management functions at Chicago area hospitals. As the Risk Manager for OMSNIC and Fortress, Suzanne focuses on patient safety and risk management education and research for oral and maxillofacial surgeons and dentists.
